Bummer-LCG's have mold
I've been looking forward to the arrival of my last order from JR's. Two boxes of LGC Wavell Maduros and one box of LGC Gloria Extra maduros. The one box of LGC Gloria Extra and one of the two boxes of the LGC Wavell Maduros had mold on them. I've ordered all of my cigars mail order over the last 17-18 years and never had this happen so was pretty surprised.
I'd pulled one of the Gloria Extras out of the cello when I found the mold. The mold was growing on the wrappers and also the foot end of the cigars. I wiped the mold off and smoked the cigar. I think the cigar was kind of wet but it tasted OK and lasted my 1.75 hours. I then checked every cigar which is when I found mold on the one box of Wavells. One box of Wavell's was just fine as were the Punch Rothschild Oscuros. I know JR's will take them back with no problem so it's no big deal. It's just that I've only heard talk of mold and never seen it in person. I'm glad I found about the mold before I de-celloed the cigars and mixed them in my giant plastic bin full of cigars. WyoBob |
