Grabbed a bottle of the staff Jr here in Florida. 60$. Is that a good price?

Sounds reasonable to me (given the current CDN/US$ exchange rate). Stagg Jr. is going for ~CDN$85 in my neck of the woods. But one also has to take into account that the SAQ (our provincial liquor monopoly), despite its profit margin and excessive taxes/duties, usually buys HUGE quantities of the items it stocks. (It's one of the largest wine & liquor purchasers in the world.) And that fact helps somewhat to bring the cost to the consumer into a more competitive price range vis-a-vis other importers/merchants.

Of course, the main thing is whether or not you end up loving the stuff!

$60 was the MSRP of the original Stagg and Sazerac. Back in the day, if retailers got caught selling it for more, they wouldn't be able to get further supply. They wanted it to be a top shelf bourbon at a reasonable price.

yes.

if you bought it at a state of florida store or at Total the price is right. those places wont do the triple retail game.

Prices vary state to state because of the excise taxes each state applies.

the problem is the gray market where it is get what you can get and secondary retailers like Hart-Davis-Hart which is an auction house.

I used to have a connection for Stagg and would get a bottle a year. That ended 5 years ago and the well has run dry. Have seen it as much as $800/bottle...I like their Buffalo Trace for an every day whiskey
