The ones I have seen online have a small diameter plasma arc. Don't know if this will work for cigars. My MIL got me a vector tri pump table top torch for Christmas and it lights just about anything, and can even solder I'd imagine lol.

They will still work as tiny tazers.

that is true
they are neat as hell, but I have not had any luck lighting cigars with them I had something like this, the 'pad' slid up and got hot. Worked great but the construction was awful (it was NOT what I am linking to below, but same concept) https://www.1stclasshumidors.com/tou...iABEgKi9fD_BwE

My lighter arrived today. I can see where it would great for smaller stuff like cigarillos. But I wanted to smoke a fatty today. Forget about toasting the foot. I had hoped there would be a zone of heat above the plasma. But no, it has to touch the surface. I didn't try to light the cigar, couldn't see it happening. I did get the hang of using it for touch ups. My cigar was burning sideways. It's like using a pencil welder. I did manage to get some flame licking up the side of the cigar. But I think it's because I had a coal already. I paid money for this lighter, so I'll keep messing with it. But it's hard to be optimistic of the prospects for good utility.

The best lighter I've ever used, and I've used pretty much everything.
