Mojito & Mint Julip time of year

I went out yesterday and picked up some Kentucky mint and Yerba Buena mint. Now I have to plant these today in some pots. This along with some Ron Matusalem Platino Rum and Blantons bourbon should make for some great summer cocktails .

Fresh mint is already thriving out on the back porch.

Sitting outside right now with a smoke and a mojito. I don't make many drinks well, but this one turned out pretty darn good.

I was drinking Mojitos fresh this summer and switch to the lazy mans already made mojito mixers...just had rum and club soda.

Have to say the fresh stuff was pretty awesome but a pain in the butt.

Make a "redneck" mojito: mint, cheap rum, and Mountain Dew. (Don't laugh--you would be surprised.)
