That Isn't Banana Pudding!

Growing up in Western North Carolina my Mom made an incredible nanner puddin' as we called it. It was whole vanilla wafers and bananas cut about the same size and thickness of the wafer. Some a lil thicker. The wafers, banana rounds and the delicious goop were layered. Man was it good.

This week we had a reception at our house with a catered meal following the passing of a family member. The food was delicious as were the desserts. The desserts were peach cobbler, blueberry cobbler and banana pudding. The banana pudding had a good flavor and folks loved it, but....it was all pudding! No visible wafers or bananas as if everything were finely blended until nothing but a pudding remained. It shouldn't be! Banana pudding must have whole wafers, sliced banana rounds and the goop, damnit!
