Jason, so many thoughts come to mind but here are the ones that rise to the top:
I have always admired your commitment to your family, be it working hard at a career, starting over after getting wiped out by Katrina, and especially now manning up for them if even at personal sacrifice to do so. We need more fathers like you. A lot more.
I've always admired you for chasing your dream with the sausa. One, it was an amazing product and two, you had the cajones to jump out there and chase a dream. I've only done that once early on, failed, and have never tried again. I admire people like you.
Lastly, most "men" under 35 or so have had little in the way of father examples and are momma' boys. They get married and expect the same from their wives. These guys think nothing of letting her be the breadwinner AND handle the family responsibilities. The "men"? They are content playing Xbox and watching sports. I hear this all of the time from my female employees and when I interview men in this age bracket and ask them what they want to be doing in five years they most often say "I dunno".
My point of all of this is that there is a real shortage of men coming up. You sir have made one sacrifice after another for your family. You have taught them the value of hard work. Of trying every day. Of reaching for a dream, even if you fail. You have taught them to always pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and do whatever is necessary to keep food on the table.
I admire you.
A lot.
