I agree that a light wipedown with a damp cloth won't hurt. I do it sometimes to clean up something I've made. Too much water can warp the cedar. But it really takes quite a bit. The same thing can be accomplished with a tackcloth or the suggested microfiber cloth. Maybe better even.
For seasoning purposes, the wipedown isn't necessary and really doesn't do much to accelerate the process. |
