Royal Jamaica Gold

I picked up a RJ Gold corona (44 X 5.0) a few months back. I smoked many a Jamaican RJ in my earlier days and was anxious to see how they spruced the old gal up.

The presentation sure was nice with it's fancy gold wrapper and large colorful bands.

The wrapper leaf was really good looking. Almost maduro with an oily sheen and light veining.

This cigar just looked delicious.

Unfortunately, the rest was a disappointment. For all the glitz and flash, the cigar just didn't deliver anything special in flavor. Now, it wasn't a bad cigar. It was just a plain old medium body stick of tobacco. That's it.

So I was disappointed. Considering the box price for these ( ), they just ain't worth it. My money will be better spent elsewhere.
