Partagas Series D #4
PSD4- From 2-03
Size - 4.875 X 50.. Presentation—light english looking wrapper. Smooth as silk. One small vein that seemed like it had a thin layer of skin stretched over it. Pre lite was perfect.. taaaaaangy. Perfect draw not to loose. Aroma - light. Kind of fruity citrus. Wonderful Lit up great and didn't need anything to get going.. (this was already clipped.. I cut it about 6 months ago but it was way too wet.) So it was dry now for sure.. From almost the start it had a small bit of punch but not too strong and not harsh..tons of smoke. It was kind of sweet but not for long. Flavor was full, got hints of banana, bit of nutmeg at times but just overall loamy and leathery. Ended with a thick chewy mellow tobacco flavor.. This was a very good cigar. I wish I could have payed more attention to it. Seems to be much better then the samples I have smoked from 99 til 03. It sure held its own with other comparable cuban cigars I have smoked recently from 03 and 04. I have a couple of these left and It is going to be hard not to break into the 04's and 05's I have back aging.. I had almost giving up on these things till this one.. A couple were just good. But out of the dozen or so of these I have smoked this one was the best...by far. Maybe it had more to do with just hangin out, laughing and cuttin up with good friends.. Happy New Year |
