Quai d' Orsay Imperiales, POS May 06 - A Drooler
Having very limited experience with this marque, I was curious about the Churchill size QdO. I am a big fan of mild and medium strength cigars and this one fits the bill on the medium side.
The cigar was impeccably constructed with a somewhat firm bunch and a draw suitable for sipping. This is the way I suggest you smoke this cigar because the flavors are worth savoring. (This sample had a somehwat tight draw, many people prefer this, but it was smoked ROTT and some humi time would no doubt free it up) The flavors reminded me of a PLPC with its honey and caramel, but the QdO is more of a honey and tea experience with a medium sweet tobacco background. These flavors are consistent throughout the 2+ hour experience. Wonderful! I will say that for some reason this cigar stimilated my salivary glands more than usual. Even sipping this cigar, the head became quite damp. A real Drooler in every way! I recommend it highly (92/100), especially after lunch or a light dinner.
