It’s CW Detroit Christmas Herf time again!

When: Saturday December 11, 2010
Time: 1:00 PM onward
Where: La Casa de La Habana Ann Arbor, 3780 Jackson Road

Mark your calendars! In spite of the new Michigan smoking laws we WILL prevail and have a better time than ever!

Thanks to Ted for extending his membership privalges and a HUGE thank you to Heather of La Casa for giving us the opportunity to experience this outstanding facility!

Our format will be dramatically different from any Herf we’ve had. And better! It will work this way:
· Bring your own beverages.
· Bring your own eats or order from a local restaurant or carry-out.
· Better yet, bring something to share if you can.
· Plan to purchase a cigar or two or five from La Casa. Heather stocks a walk-in that will blow you away and she needs to keep the lights on (i.e., this ain’t charity!

) Besides, how many Herfs have we had where the humidor is ten feet away?!

The focus will be on Herfing, plain & simple!

We will, however, have a couple of things that this gig just woudn't be right without. 'Secret Santa Gift Exchange' and 'In-To-Win'! Here's how they work:

"Secret Santa" Gift Exchange

~ Participation is optional
~ Your offering should consist of a selection of good premium cigars. NO DOG ROCKETS!
~ Any other goodies of interest to the cigar smoker can be included (booze, lighters, cutters, humi cards, ashtrays, etc.).
~ To keep the exchange fair and equal the total value of your gift should be around $25. More is up to you!
~ Wrap your gift but DO NOT identify it with any names.
~ Gifts will be placed on a table.
~ Names of participants will be recorded on paper strips, put in a container and mixed up.
~ Names will be randomly drawn and that person will select the gift of their choice until all gifts have been distributed.
~ The gift exchange will be between participants only (i.e. bring a gift, get a gift).

"In to Win"

~ We'll have an empty box on hand to drop cigars in
~ For each cigar you put in the box you get a strip of paper to put your name on.
~ 1 cigar, 1 strip. 2 cigars, 2 strips. 3, 3 etc.
~ The more cigars you put in the better your chance to win!
~ Name strips will be placed in a container and mixed up
~ ONE name will be randomly drawn to win it all!
~ Good stuff only, NO DOG ROCKETS! Don't expect to exchange that Parodi for an Opus X!

This will be a great event! I hope everyone can make it!

Glad you guys decided to come back (well, maybe except for Ted). We decided to have our club member Christmas potluck that evening. We always have more than enough food so feel free to linger for a bit longer and don't be shy to eat. Cheers!

Can't wait. Remeber, the big chill ice hockey game at Michigan stadium is that day. Starts at 3pm. So get there early and stick around for awhile.
