Anyone grow herbs under grow lights ?
Relax , just talking about Basil , Rosemary Thyme etc...
anyhow , we don't get enough life to sustain these things during the winter , was thinking about getting a grow light and some mylar reflective fabric and giving it a try... just curious if anyone has tried it ? have read stuff on internet but was after first hand experience... Dan |

We live in Texas, so they grow pretty well here, and for the few cold spells we move them to the green house. We plant new basil each year.

Years ago, I used regular fluorescent lights hanging above my plants during winter. I had it timed to come on late in the day to continue the length of the day. Seemed to work fine as they had growth on them like they would in summer.
I also have a seed starting box that I bought years ago. Basically, it's a styrofoam box that has an opening for a seed tray to sit in the top. A clear plastic cover goes over that. On the underside, there is an area for placing a light bulb to keep the bottom of the seed pots warm.
