I got to see Hooker open for Warren Zevon at City Stages in Birmingham. They were both excellent performers. Zevon did an acoustic set, just him and a piano. I'll never forget that and how little people seemed to be paying attention to what was right in front of them.

BB King and Buddy Guy have to be mentioned when talking blues.
Buddy Guy is still touring and making new music, GOOD new music!
Ive been a fan of Joe Bonamassa since before his first blues album. (Bloodline). There are lots of new generation blues artist keeping the music alive although I do think Bonamassa is a little over exposed at the moment.
Check out Gary Clark Jr.

I agree with RL Burnside. He seems to be over looked some. I liked his collaboration with Jon Spencer also. I also like his story telling.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Eric Clapton. How about Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
