What a huge red wine from Jumilla

70 pct Monstrasell 30 pct Cab Sav

Deep dark lush

Some tobacco some coffee big dark stewed fruits

Decanted and allowed to sit 2 hours

6 hours later it is still opening up

Sounds like a real 'treat'. I see that the Gil (of Juan Gil fame) family is involved in this particular enterprise. And I can't help but take note of the blend (70% Monastrell, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon), which echoes (albeit it in a uniquely Spanish way) that of many a 'super Tuscan' red (where the Cab component complements Sangiovese). Not exactly an 'everyday wine' for me, though, owing to the cost.

it had a certain super T feel to it, a Spanish wine to be sure. Wish I could have that as the everyday red, alas I think not. Nice to have a non temparnilo, non grenacha red from Spain

This might fit the bill, with a very friendly price at Costco. I've had a couple of bottles and I think it is definitely worth the $9.

Spanish wine has so many bargains and also so many unicorns. I am doing 2 nights in Logrono next month, hoping to find many unicorns.

Everyday red, if I drank reds everyday would be some kind of Spanish red. Borsao is available here in Chicago at really low prices.
