Has anyone else tried this packing method. There was a video clip on the Newyork pipe club site for this, but now under redesign. This method of packing is great for your favorite blend and matching pipe. It will smoke for hours without having to relite. It took a couple of attempts to learn, but the end result is worth it. Can't use it always, but when I can set aside the time for a long smoke, this is the method to get it.

I think you mean "Frank."

I've tried it, seem to get the same results when I do it the gravity feed, multiple fill method.

Not very convenient when you're driving, on the cell phone, drinking coffee and loading a pipe, though.

I've used it quite a few times, and it's great... really brings out the flavors in more subtle blends like bohemian scandal.
