Hiram & Solomon Master Mason Toro
The cigar has an oily dark wrapper with a couple of veins. The wrapper and foot have aromas of cocoa nibs. The bunch is good and the cold draw is good. Tonight's beverage is a Samuel Smith's Chocolate Stout.
The initial burn is a bit uneven, mostly along a vein, but not enough to touch up. The ash is medium grey and not flaky but not all that solid looking. I will have to be careful. So far I have dark chocolate notes with some light pepper in the retrohale. The ash looked like it was going to drop at 1/2 inch so I tapped it to be safe. The first third is mostly dark chocolate with a touch of cedar. The pepper notes continue to be light. This is a medium to full bodied cigar. The burn evened itself out and the ash continues to tap off easily about every 3/4 inch. The second third continues to be very smooth and pleasant. The cedar notes have picked up a bit as has the pepper. The smoke remains cool and plentiful, while the burn remains even. Approaching the final inch the cigar is leaving a distinct chocolate finish. The burn is still even and the smoke remains pleasant. This is a very nice cigar. 8.75/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
