An incredible find
Mancos, Colorado...an old, tiny town in the far southwestern part of the state. Montezuma County, hard by the edge of several enormous Indian reservations, not exactly economically gifted.
A tiny shop in what looks like it used to be a gas station. The sign reads Fahrenheit Coffee Roaster. The locals come and go, in cowboy hats and boots, dusty from work, muddy trucks parked outside. The guy working the counter knows all of them by name. I'm the stranger here. I get a large cup of El Salvador. Friendly barista says with a smile "That'll be $2.00." Frigging. Excellent. These guys roast their own beans and they know what the hell they're doing. Probably the best coffee I've ever had that I didn't roast myself. If I ran a coffee shop, this is what it would be. If you're ever at Mesa Verde National Park, you're 5 miles from Mancos. Stop in at Fahrenheit and get yourself a cup. Trust me, you will NOT regret it.
