Something I learned today
Dave Brubeck's Take Five got its name from the fact that it was written in 5/4 time.
Never knew or heard that before today.

Close. '59. Released in '61. My LP is so worn that I think that Santa is going to bring me a CD of it in my stocking. I remember muttering about a fresh copy of Kind of Blue too.
Another fun fact: Desmond thought it was a throw away song. Joked that he would spend all of his share of the royalties on a new electric shaver.

Classic stuff. Time Further Out is a worthy follow-up album, too.

And the rest is history! It's a tune that will last forever. A definitive classic.

Yes, and thankfully I was blessed with perfect timing and I can play along to this. I say blessing because it is a blessing.
