Question Smoking Issues - Ambient Temp. & Humidity

Does ambient temperature and humidity have a great effect on the smoking of a cigar?

I ask because I'm not sure if that affected my smoke this morning. It was 50 degrees and 61% humidity this morning and I couldn't keep that $%#@er lit, had to keep babying it. Plus it was canoeing almost the whole way through. It didn't appear to be over humidified and there weren't any draw issues.

Is there another element I'm missing in relation to poor construction?

Any other suggestions outside of this topic?
