This cigar was given to me by Neophyte. It was rolled especially for the fifth annual herf. It is not available on the market, and I sure wish it was.
The rich looking medium brown wrapper had a fragrant smell. The construction of this cigar was very good. I cut the cigar with my Xicar, producing a clean cut without any unravelling. The pre-light draw was excellent also. After lighting, the draw was still excellent and remained that way throughout the smoke. This cigar produced a peppery taste upon lighting and stayed that way for about a 1/2 inch into the burn. The amount of smoke was not as much as I would have liked for such an easy drawing cigar. The aroma was kind of nutty with a burnt chocolate taste, but not real aromatic, not overpowering. The burn was even throughout the smoke and the ash, which was a mix of light and dark greys, held on until I knocked it off after about 1 1/2 inches. The cigar then mellowed out with an interesting smoothness. About halfway through the cigar burst into what I can only describe as a Cuban like taste, finishing strong and flavorfull until I burnt my fingers. This was a wonderfull cigar and if it was for sale, I'd buy a couple of boxes as soon as I could. Doyle, you teased me with this one. Tell Manuel to make more!!
