Lucinda Williams - Live at the Filmore

Went to the local record shop this weekend and my wife grabbed this double cd live set by Lucinda Williams. I've heard her name before but neither of us had ever heard her music. Well I was floored! This set is so good. She is a remarkable performer and songwriter.

Has anyone else checked this out. I'll bet there are a few of her fans out there......

I have seen her a couple times, really enjoyed it. The reviews on the CD have been mixed mainly about the song selection. I think most of it is live versions of the Essence CD ?. One of my favorites is an early acoustic one called Ramblin Blues or something like that some blues covers & folkbluegrass covers. I like the tune Righteously off one of the more recent one, something with 'Tears' in the title.

I like her a great deal but I think they (media/critics) overrate her as a writer when they compare her to Dylan, Springsteen and others.

She puts on a great show, If she's around I ain't gonna miss it.

I discovered her several years ago after seeing her do a short set on the "Sessions at West 54th" TV show. She's one of those performers who puts her soul into her songwriting and singing.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that CD.

I'm with you on that one, 7070!

I would also put the show I saw her do in Dublin a couple of years ago on my top ten concert list.

I think she was going to put out her live CD last year, but the release was postponed for some reason. Thanks for the reminder, Stone!
