I think I read somewhere that the "cheap" Stanwells are made in Italy by Barontini. I have one. It's the brushed brown poker. I don't have a problem with it if I smoke it slowly, but yes it does get too hot to hold if smoked fast. I like mine, but it's not as good as the old Danish Stanwells.

I'd jump on this one fast, but I can't spend any more money this month. I have one Ropp and would like to get another some day. It's a good smoking pipe.
