Is it worth keeping cigar box lining (wax paper / styrofoam)

I have several cigar boxes that are going to be used in a custom built humidor (either a vinotemp, tupperware-a-dor, or cooler-a-dor, still weighing out my options). My question has to do with the wax paper/styrofoam sheet linings in these boxes. Is there any benefit to keeping this stuff, or can I act like a little kid on Christmas and make a mess tearing through all these boxes? Thanks for any thoughts on this.
