Romeo y Julieta Aniversario Corona
Romeo y Julieta Aniversario Corona
(44 X 5-1/2) Dominican Republic I was interested in giving one a try as I bought a box out of the trading room not long ago. I've read some bad press but wanted to decide for myself on this brand. A nicely presented cigar with a light brown wrapper. Solid construction. This turned out to be one of the more interesting cigars I've had in a long time, it was actually fun to smoke. What made it so interesting was the flavor profile, a profile that I have never experienced before in a cigar. It took me a while to pin it down, it was a flavor I had experienced before, I knew the taste, but not related to a cigar. Then it finally hit me: Bread dough. The cigar had a creamy, rich bread dough flavor as a base, and was topped by what I would call a classic tobacco spice. You might think that the beard dough taste would be a turn off, but it wasn't. I really enjoyed this cigar. As it burned past the midway point the spiciness began to overtake and become nicely pronounced, but the dough was always there. The cigar was a solid medium in body. It also seemed to me that these cigars will certainly benefit from some good aging. There was a bite lingering off in the distance that I'm sure will mellow out. I'm gonna stash my box away and try to keep my hands off for a while. I really enjoyed this cigar and I'm very glad I've got a box of them to burn. This is one instance where I'm glad I ignored the poor reviews. If you like a flavorful medium body smoke you should give these a try. My review gives this brand a ! |
