Neat: The Story of Bourbon (2018)
Nice hour or so film on the history and production of bourbon whiskey. Available on Hulu this month. Makes you want to have a tasting. Check it out.

I do not need reasons to have a tasting.

Tried the white dog trick last night and went 3 for 3 on the aromas. Amazing. Got a bottle of the white and a bottle of the aged from the same maker and went side by side. What the barrel does to the whiskey is magic.

It surely is. In fact, barrel ageing is more often than not the single most important factor in altering the flavour of a whiskey (for the better, that is).

Watched Neat last night. Very informative and brought back good memories of our week on the Bourbon Trail earlier this year. Watched it while enjoying a Longbranch by Wild Turkey. Nice evening!

Few things better than sampling whiskies where they're made.

Really cool, don't have Hulu, hope it becomes available elsewhere.
I had a neat opportunity (haha, pun) to try some specialty offerings a couple weekends ago and it was awesome to spend time with people who's palates are much more refined than mine. As far as the bourbon trail goes, that is my home. If y'all ever come down to central Kentucky, please get in touch with me! |
