Menendez y Garcia Corona Minor
This proved to be a very good cigar.
I bought a box from Mike's Cigars about six months ago. The first couple were not a taste sensation, tending to have something of a bitter and papery aftertaste. Time in the box helped immensely. The M y G Corona Minor is a 5x44 Dominican with a CT Shade wrapper, DR filler and DR binder. It's very nicely constructed, with a smooth, light tan wrap, firmly packed and no flaws to be seen. The draw was easy, and it burned dead-on straight, without touch-up, to the nub. Lots of pleasantly aromatic mild smoke with a consistent nutty cocoa-type flavor. No spiciness for the hardcore. Nothing complex. Just a smooth, tasty elegant little smoke...and a plain bargain at JR's current closeout price. I've only had these in the petite corona size. I'd be very curious to know if anyone's tried them in the larger sizes and what your impression was. I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on a box of the toro or churchill size. |
