Christmas dinner traditions

I'm curious to learn what foods are traditional to your family at Christmas.

Mine are standing rib roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, shoepeg white corn, green bean casserole (I know, cliche, but still a family favorite), my homemade cranberry sauce (turns out that only I am really crazy about so I no longer make it), and chocolate pecan pie.

Christmas Eve is all of the shrimp cocktail you can hold (a holdover from NOLA, but the only day we get to eat all of the shrimp we want and a tradition that dates back to Great Grandma Workman).

Christmas morning is always homemade cinnamon rolls and what we call fruit slush. It's basically a float made with ginger ale and sherbet, but the kids demand it every year.

On Boxing day, I traditionally make cheese steak sandwiches with the leftover roast. I think J looks forward to them even more than the Christmas roast. We don't eat a lot of beef anymore, but a rib roast that has dry aged for a month is a huge treat.

So, what's your traditions?

Free speech is free speech is free speech. There is no qualifier.

If you aren't outraged, you aren't paying attention.

Never attribute malice to that what can be explained as stupidity.

Unborn lives matter too.
