The Banjo

I never gave it much credit. I was a city kid and watched The Beverly Hillbillies and got my first exposure to country music, as did many other urban kids my age back then. Did I appreciate it? Heck no. Was it really hard to play? Heck no. Were they really musicians? Heck no. I thought it was part of the show...you know. Then I grew up a little bit more and turned 14. My parents sent me to visit relatives just outside of Memphis. They took me to a show "in town" where I heard a guy play banjo. I think I recognized his name from a BH episode years earlier. That night everything changed. Here's what I heard.
