Bail top and canning jars are good options. Another option to the problem of loosing moisture from your open tins is to simply add moisture back in. I use all three options. To add moisture back in I use a tiny spray bottle with that you can buy at any Walmart for about 50 cents. When it needs it, I pour the baccy into a bowl, one or two spritz and mix the tobacco to even out the moisture, put the tobacco back into the tin and that's it. I've kept tobacco alive in unsealed tins for very long periods of time with no problems. Only thing you need to watch out for is to not add too much water especially in the summer months because mold will destroy your tobacco. Rule of thumb with rubbed out tobacco is to pinch it into a ball then release it. If it falls apart slowly, that's the right amount of water. If it sticks together throw away the sprayer and stick with jars...

I use a sprayer similar to this one
