looking for recommendations
I've been listening to Michael Bubble's "It's time" at work this days.
While I would guess that the dude is more MTV than anything but the type of music is surely quite soothing and relaxing as I listen to them during work. It takes the stress out, therefore I'm looking for more "big band" (I'm guessing this is the correct genre) singers that I could add to my rotation. Can you guys recommend a particular album or a singer that I can try out? Thanks.

Cherry POPPIN' Daddies.
For a slight derivation look for Michael Brecker's CD's from the late 1980's and early 1990's. He did a lot of contemporary work with a big band. It's good stuff. Was Not Was, as I understand, was/is a good sized band, too. Old Duke Ellington and Count Basie would work as well.

If you really want to mellow out in "old time" singers/bands, you can give a listen to Jerry Vale.

Buster Poindexter. AKA David Johansson of the New York Dolls. Did some lounge/big band pieces.
