GLP vs. C&D
As we all know, Cornell and Diehl tins the blends for G. L. Pease. I wonder why it is that I do not care for C&D blends, but some of the GLP blends are among my favorites (Haddo's Delight, Fillmore). I have found it to be a characteristic of the C&D blends that I have smoked that they burn hot and are somewhat acrid - tough on the tongue, in short. I also find them far less complex than the GLP offerings. Thoughts?
For discussion purposes, I have smoked Briar Fox, Bayou Morning Flake, Blockade Runner, Autumn Evening, and a few others I can not remember. Ironically, I liked Autumn Evening the best of any C&D blend. I say it is ironic because I have not smoked aromatic blends for 25 years. I was just impressed that any company would make an attempt to produce an aromatic with such obviously high-quality tobacco.
