Room 101 Hit & Run Corona
The year between the 2016 and 2017 saw Matt Booth move his cigar enterprise from Davidoff to Caldwell. This is the first cigar since the move. The wrapper is light to medium brown with a couple of veins. The wrapper and foot have gingerbread aromas. The bunch is firm and the cold draw is perfect with a hint of vanilla. Tonight's beverage is a Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA.
The initial draw reveals a mild to medium bodied cigar with notes of vanilla, honey and gingerbread. The burn is even and the ash is medium grey and looks like it wants to drop in my lap. The complexity of flavors and the construction look like they will be the stars of this show. The first third continues to be a good blend of vanilla, honey and gingerbread with a light touch of white pepper in the retrohale. The burn is still very even and the ash falls about every 3/4 inch. The large volume of smoke adds to the enjoyment. At 2/3 the honey has replaced the vanilla notes while the gingerbread notes remain distinct. The pepper has increased somewhat. I did have to touch the burn up once, but it is back to even again. Approaching the final inch the burn remains even after the one correction. The flavors remain complex and pleasant. The only warmth I can detect is the wrapper closing in on my fingers. Overall I give this one 9/10. Joe Bob says check it out.

I only found out about it a couple of weeks or so before IPCPR. Booth was there. He made me play Missile Command to talk to him...
