So, should I use COAXIAL or OPTICAL Digital Output

I've heard some say there's not much differ.

SP, if I remember correctly from my high-end days, the coaxial output is preferred. This is because the optical TOSLINK 'connection' is inferior, and not necessarily because of the cable itself.

I beleive that you are refering to your audio output. The optical cable is quite expensive and there is quite a bit of debate among the "audio experts" as to whether or not there is any difference. I would go with the coaxial cable due to price, and the leading school of thought says your audio quality is just as good.

Now for the video. This depends on your TV. I am assuming that you don't have an HDTV since you didn't buy a progressive scan DVD. If you just have a standard TV you should probably use the composite(the yellow rca type cable) for the video connection. Or you can get a better signal with the S Type connector(large connector with 5 small pins). If your DVD and TV have a component input(red, green, and blue connectors) then for the ultimate signal use them. Of course you are limited by the quality and resolution of your TV here. The simplest way is with the composite for video and coaxial for audio.

Hope this hasn't confused you any. If you have any questions feel free to email me, ORV

No, it's not too cold out for a cigar.

Thanks.

Don't have Composite on TV, so will have to stick with S-Video.

Think I will use the Coaxial for Audio, based on all the help.
