New York, NY: Michael Herklots Birthday Fundraiser Events.
From an e-mail from Davidoff of Geneva, NY store manager Michael Herklots, describing his charitable events for this year. Proceeds go to his own alma mater, a small-town, financially distressed Connecticut high school.
Quote:
Michael Herklots' Annual Birthday Fundraiser
It's that time again for my annual birthday party/fundraiser event. This is the 6th year I'm raising money for my high school alma mater, Killingly High School in Danielson, CT. Since 2005, my birthday event has raised over $70,000 for the Learning for Life Fund which helps supplement the costs of KHS's School-to-Career program. http://www.killinglyschools.org/2053...te/default.asp
It's a small town public school that's funded by a very limited education budget financed by generous yet maxed taxpayers, many on fixed incomes. This past year has been incredibly challenging for them to maintain programs, and even provide adequate resources like computers. They were only able to do so because of the funding this event generates through your support and generosity. The Killingly High School "Learning for Life" Fund directly supports the "Career Pathways" program and "School to Career" program that helps in the transition from high school to the next step in these young peoples' lives, whether further education or directly into a trade. It really is amazing to see how far this money goes. Here is the most recent Newsletter for the Learning for Life Fund-

For the last two years we've broken $30,000 each year and I'm hopeful and confident this year will be our best year yet! Special thanks to all the manufacturers and friends who donate all the product for the impressive auction and raffle every year.
Here's my blog on last year's event. http://michaelherklots.blogspot.com/...undraiser.html
As always, if there is anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask. If you do NOT want to receive emails from me, please let me know so I can remove you from my list.
Thank you for all your continued business and support,
Michael
