as a fulltime musician, i NEED people to buy my music. if they don't then i have the money to pay for gas, food and hotel rooms. and just like every other hard workin' person i gotta worry about my rent and bills when i get home.
i don't have a problem with the artists giving away their music. it's theirs, they have every right to do that, but when people down load it for free and pass it around it's stealing. i agree, the internet is a great way for artists to promote themselves. it's direct marketing straight to the fans without the record companies getting in the way. just don't forget that people like me need to make a living just like every one else. i think that sometimes music is overlooked as a "product" because you can't physically touch it. thanks for letting me rant a bit. bruce
