Well said, all! Thanks to all for sharing.
My father passed physically four and a half years ago, just short of his 88th birthday. Unfortunately, Alzheimers had taken him from us almost ten years before that. A member of the greatest generation, he also smoked cigars. Having skipped first grade, as an aunt had already taught him to read, he graduated high school at 16. Enlisted as soon as he turned 17 and saw serious combat in France. Went through college on the GI Bill after the war. Fathered me and my six younger siblings and provided well for us. Was married to my mother for sixty five years at his passing. It's good to take time to remember the really important things.
