IPCPR: La Casta

La Casta Maduro Corona

A very nice medium brown maduro wrapper. No veins with consistent coloring. Square pressed with a solid feel. Overall, the appearance was very nice.

The pre-light aroma and draw was a musty and earthy tobacco smell and flavor.

The cigar lit easily and produced a good volume of smoke. The burn would start to run at times, but self corrected.

The cigar exhibited a thick earthy tobacco flavor. I would call it a medium bodied cigar, but with a thick flavor.

Unfortunately, the cigar left a stinging metallic bitterness on the tongue. This was very off putting. It just overwhelmed any positive characteristics of the cigar. After about 2/3 burned I pitched the smoke as the bitterness never let up.

My experience with this single cigar would cause me to give it a "not recommended" rating due to the significant bitterness.
