La Requeza (sp?)

I am wondering what others thought of this smoke. I picked on up at the shop last week at the recomendation of someone there. Its a Pete Johnson cigar, and the guys at the shop seem to love his stuff. This wa supposed to be a Cuban style, full bodied, strait ahead smoke.

I smoked the Toro (it was a toro size, anyway- not sure what the actualy size was called). It was $11.00.

The cigar was very well made, with a beautiful connecticut broadleaf wrapper. It started mild enough, but turned into a little bit of a powerhouse by the end.

But that was it. Strait ahead? Absolutly. But, not at all complex. No development of flavor. Nothing left hanging on my palate as an afterthough. Seemingly one dementional; an austere blend.

I'm curious to know what others think. This cigar may prove to age well, but my first impression of this new smoke was that the blend was uninteresting. Was it the wrong time of day for the smoke? Had I eaten some combination of foods that dulled this otherwise outragious smoke? Anything is possible. So, please share! Thanks. P.S. As reviews go, this one's not very interesting. Some of those on this board are terrific, and I will leave the fabulous prose to those who are capable. Keep it up.
