The Charles Tolliver Quintet live in April 2014 (recorded on our DVR from Mezzo TV)... I've always admired Tolliver's music, especially during the Strata-East era when the great Stanley Cowell (piano) was a member of his group.

In addition to CDs on the road, WWOZ 90.7.

It's a local NPR station in New Orleans, but all they play is Jazz. Worth a listen online. Cajun French and English music on Sunday morning.

Just picked it up on our Tangent internet radio, and will give it a more extended listen later on.

It might not be the hardcore jazz that you may be looking for, Doug, but it is wonderful background music for just about everything. No news like a traditional NPR station, but it is jazz, jazz all the way down.

Great stuff! Their rendition of Tchaikovsky's Pathétique is, of course, one of the all-time classics.

I was lucky enough to see the St Petersburg Philharmonic last year, a rather burnished sound
