IPCPR Cigar: Evil Genius

I am about to fire up a new cigar, they've been around a year, called Evil Genius. From what I understood from the guy I spoke with, this cigar I'm smoking now, the Time Machine robusto,(5" x 50) is a non-flavored cigar. These are available to tobacconists in a box of 20 or a bundle of 24, each with a suggested retail price of $145.00. They started out last year with two lines : White Chapel and Black Chapel, with some Lancaster, PA tobacco in there.

So this is their first foray into regular cigars. Immediately I see a "hole" in the bunch at the foot of the cigar. Maybe this is a new innovation to make it light and draw better? Evil Genius are based out of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, but they shared exhibit space with Miami Cigars since these are manufactured by La Aurora. That bodes well, but the hole in the bunch worries me.

The cigar clipped just fine, and there's a definite sweetness (boy that's one trend this year) on the pre-light draw.

OK, I stopped and smoked, now editing.
I am halfway into this cigar, and it's not bad, not bad at all.
I've been tooling around on the internet and smoking and quite frankly, the cigar hasn't made me sit up and take notice. It's good, a rather acceptable cigar for any occasion, but it is simply that.

I asked my son for a reading on the aroma, and he says "normal." There isn't much complexity or an over-arching flavor, it's normal. A quality cigar, but not a world-beater.

It's a precarious
