Super Dry but Still wet...?

Here's the story.
I've smoked a few bowls of some Stokkebye Navy Flake that I got way back when we did that monster box pass. Anyone remember that beast of a pass?
Anyway, this stuff is old. I'm talking 2001. It was just a sampler in a ziplock bag that I did not store well at all. It's dry as can be. I could probably rub it to dust if I wanted. It's extremely tasty!

I've been using a different pipe than normal which has not been smoked since last winter. What do I hear? Gurgling. Naw! It can't be the baccy. I am smoking fast but the bowl isn't getting very hot. Could it be the weather or could it be me pulling out moisture from my pipe? I find it all very strange. Has anyone else experienced this before?
