A Word About My Reviews

I begin every cigar I review expecting the best.
Sometimes I am rewarded, other times I am disappointed.

If you receive a negative review from me, please do not be discouraged. I am sure that there are others who would thoroughly enjoy your cigar.

Keep in mind, these are my opinions.

Thank you all for being so generous with the samples you provided for us to review.

Another thing or two; when I refer to "nose" it is from waving the lit cigar end in front of my nose to get an idea of what aroma the cigar itself is producing. And yes, I smell the foot of the cigar before I light it for a "taste of things to come."

I am guilty of this also.

Exactly. Except for construction quality, everything else is subjective and a matter of opinion. Just because you love or hate a cigar doesn't mean that I'll feel the same way.

Something I should add; new smokers should not be discouraged if they don't pick up some of the subtle flavors my palate picks up when I am reviewing a cigar. It took me a while and a lot of cigars before I started to pick these up. Keep smoking and you will notice things. And if you only taste tobacco when you smoke cigars, that's ok too, as long as you enjoy them.

Additionally, the distinct tastes and flavors are usually subtle. If I taste citrus, it is not the same as if I'm biting into an orange. Freshly mowed grass and hay are "tastes" identified more by the nose than the mouth. When I taste coffee, it's not as if I am drinking coffee. Again, the tastes are subtle.
