Anyone Try the Akorn Kamado Grill?

Since I'm not in the market to spend a $1000 on a Big Green Egg, a friend of mine turned me onto the Akorn by Char-Grill. I have to admit I was very skeptical since it only retails for about $325 and I was lucky enough to get on brand new for a fraction of that cost. They say you can sear steaks at 700-800* or low smoke at 225-250*. I also have a stone that would allow you have a brick oven style pizza.
I haven't really had much of a chance to fully test this baby out yet and was wondering if anyone else has one and if so what are your experiences with it.
Also if anyone has a link to some good kamado style cook recipes, I'd like to try a few of them.

I have an egg but have heard good things about these. Plus, their fire starters are wuite a bit cheaper and just as good.
I saw a really good cook book by them at our local Ace hardware, almost bought it myself.

They had some serious growing pains 10 years ago, but that's before CB bought them out. My neighbor just got one a couple of weeks ago and I haven't seen him use it yet. People seem to either love them or hate them. I haven't used one myself.

I had an XL Egg and it cooked great right up until a storm we had bucking 80 mph winds took it out. I’ve never tried one of those or known anyone that had one but using the same concept I bet it will cook fine.

I also had a stone and will say that there is no better way to do pizza!

I have a stone dedicated to grilled pizza on the Weber. One in the oven too.
