New Pipe Smoker Questions

As many of you know I just started smoking a pipe this weekend. I just have a few questions. I know this is basic stuff, but hey, I'm just a rookie when it comes to pipes.

1. How long should an average bowl last?

2. How long should you wait between each puff. With cigars I generally wait a minute between each draw, which keeps the cigar smoking cool.

3. Are you supposed to pack the bowl tight enough to create a draw similar to a good cigar, meaning not to loose and not to firm?

4. How hot is too hot? In order to keep the bowl lit I found that I was taking frequent puffs and the bowl was getting very warm. Not so hot that it would burn my hand, but warm enough to where I was concerned.

5. After I finish a bowl can I reload the pipe, or do I have to let it sit for a while.

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but that's it for now.
