Springbank 15

best pour of the night last night (Bowmore bourbon barrel 10, Ledaig 18, Springbank 15...)

the springbank is dark deep - figs and brown sugar and toffee

Superb whisky!

Springbank numbers among my personal favourites. Its malt sweetness is always balanced by a complex array of underlying flavours. (Springbank surely represents one of the most consistently complex of Scotches.)

Yes... The distillery's make usually costs slightly more than that of others. But one receives, 'in the bargain', handcrafted whiskies from a family-owned enterprise. These days, the sites that can boast carrying out every phase of the distillation process (from malting right through to bottling) are few and far between. Springbank is one of them.

agree, it is pricey but the complexity is unbelievable and the family is one of those families that really gives a damn about their drams
