I've had a few great samplers from General over the past few weeks, and until today, I've been really impressed. Keep meaning to get reviews written.
The dunhill 1907 was a great, woody, leafy robusto. It was really similar to a connecticut blend, rather than the honduran that I believe it was credited as being. Really refined and smooth, but with a bite, and whoa, a pretty good nicotine hit.
Cao colombia was a good, peppery, smoke, not really anything stood out in the blend, but it had a few interesting and different notes to it.
The amazon basin was magnificent. Strong, peppery flavors, with a lingering coffee and cocoa finish. there were some strong aromas of sweet fruitiness in one, the second was a little less prominent. For being a strong, peppery smoke, it was surprisingly smooth and refined. Best of the lot. Probably a 90. Highly recommended. A beautiful cigar, as well.
