I've always regarded Blood on the Tracks as one of his finest albums.

And whenever I need a bit of a lift, listening to his duet with Johnny Cash on Nashville Skyline usually does the trick.

Poor Bob. He was dark before being dark was cool.

While I would agree that he is a great songwriter, his voice makes me want to slit my wrists. I cannot listen to even a couple minutes of him before I have to change the channel....

I love some of his work. tangled up in blue is fantastic. I've very rarely seen a lyrical "fugue". His music, his acoustic guitar, his vocals are rough, but his music and lyrics are very pleasant to me.

Explaining what Dylan's lyrics really meant to some poor benighted girl + a half-gallon of Almaden was a sure way to the Ecstasies of Venus.

I have always felt the same way. I had no idea that his very early stuff was good, back when he still could speak English.
