Question Cigar Saver Tubes

Are these just a gimmick or are they legit? I want to hear from the community, not what retailers/manufacturers state in their sales pitch.

legit but I find a cigar being relit after much more than 30-60 minutes no matter how you save it to be pretty well shot to hell and not worth the effort to relight, clear, etc.

I think Jose Blanco had a comment on these at the end of his seminar video.

They're a gimmick

As noted, 60 minutes of sitting in it's own stink, probably not going to result in a good cigar on re-light.

If you got only an hour, smoke a robusto.

This was a topic of conversation last night during my nightly ritual. I didn't chime in on it, I just listened to everyone argue their points. To me, it just seemed logical that it wasn't legit. In my mind, a lit and pacified cigar is a lit and pacified cigar that has a very short time for relite, regardless of how it is "saved."

I have one, but don't use it very often. When I use it I purge the cigar then let it go out and remove as much ash as possible. As others have said a relit cigar will never be as good as on its initial lighting but as a yard 'gar they aren't too bad.

I was supposed to review one of these, or there's another liquid product I was supposed to review after the IPCPR four or five years ago. I never did do it.

The liquid was supposed to be dropped onto the cleared, lit end of the cigar, and purports to keep the whole thing fresh.

What was the liquid thing called? I've never heard of such a thing.
