I'll Drink to That! What is your favorite beverage to have with a cigar? Juice? Cola? Beer? Port? Single Malt Scotch? This room is for the discussion of beverages, especially alcoholic beverages that go well with cigars! |

Progressive Dinner
So my church (PCA) had a Valentine's Day progressive dinner yesterday. There were about 30 folks all together (15 couples). A progressive dinner is where you start at one home and have appetizers, then you roll to another home for the salad, roll to another home for the main meal then roll to the last home for the dessert. In all honesty I don't see the appeal to a progressive dinner but my Bride likes it, sooo. So all the couples started at the appetizer home then split into three groups to head to the salad and main meal host's homes then we all came back together for the dessert house.
But, last night I was pleasantly surprised to find at the first house, the appetizer home, sangria, wine and beer (a Hefeweizen) offered. The next house, the salad home, wine and a homemade Dunkle was offered. The husband is a home brewer and it was delicious. The main meal was at my house (smoked stuffed Mediterranean pork loin) where I offered scotch, rum and wine. Then we rolled to the last home and they offered brandy, Irish creme, cognac and a raspberry liqueur. Gotta say i enjoyed myself. --Dan Last edited by jeepdad; 02-15-2016 at 06:45 AM. |

Sometimes, religion pays off.

It was an enjoyable time. It was good intelligent conversation, good chow and good libations. I would do it again for sure.

I've never done one, but my sister and her husband used to participate in them frequently before my nephew was born.
