Veritas Threeblend Toro

A very attractive barber pole cigar with a good box press, bunch and draw. The foot and the wrapper give off medium tobacco notes with undertones of spices. The draw also has some spices. Pairing with a Stone Delicious IPA.

Initial impressions are medium to full tobacco notes with a slight grassiness, not completely unlike a Cohiba Robusto only not Cuban tobacco notes. Still, off to a good start. Firm light grey ash and a very even burn.

At 1/3, the grassiness is gone. As one would expect from a barber pole, the tobacco notes range from medium to full. There is also pleasant white pepper notes on the retrohale and I am getting a bit of ginger. So far a very complex smoke.

The cigar and the beer are pairing well. I guess I am getting pretty good at that.

2/3 in and the complexity of the mixed wrappers continues to be great, as are the draw and the burn. The pepper notes are steady, not overpowering and the hint of ginger remains pleasant. Also, the cigar is smoking slow and cool.

Put it down at one inch. Very tasty, complex cigar with excellent construction. 8.8/10. Joe Bob says check it out.
